Our Philosophy

Our Founder

Yuval Maymon, a former software engineer, was one of the biggest Gelato manufacturers in the world and owned a chain with more than 50 stores worldwide.

9 years ago while recovering from an accident that crashed his knee, he was diagnosed with diabetes. Yuval then sold his ice cream business, and devoted himself to invent a sugar substitute that would better his life and billions of other people’s worldwide. He soon discovered that all of existing substitutes have sugar in them, one way or the other, and they all taste terribly.

700 trials and many sleepless nights later, Yuval did the unbelievable and invented a breakthrough substitute for sugar. The first all-natural sweetener, with ZERO glycemic value and no chemicals nor any hidden sugars, AND with a sugar-like great taste and mouthfeel.

In 2018, the renowned Diabetes Medical Center in Israel conducted under the supervision of Prof. Itamar Raz, a small scale clinical trial to assess the acute effect of Heylo ingestion on blood glucose and insulin levels. For 2 weeks, 10 diabetics fasted overnight and then drank a beverage supplemented with HEYLO. Blood glucose levels and insulin were assessed prior to drinking, then at 60, 120 and 180 minute intervals. Following ingestion of the beverage, there was an increase in mean insulin secretion and a decrease in blood glucose levels – confirming that HEYLO does not increase blood glucose levels in diabetic patients up to 180 minutes after ingestion
